   I tried the new feature of restricting categories when publishing posts via XML-RPC using MS-Word.

   In the Word, the selectbox does show now only the allowed restricted categories, but in the select box there is this messgae:
   Choose a category or type a new one

   A restricted user can write inside the selectbox any new category name and publish the post. In such a case, a restricted user won't be able to actually create a new category, but the post will be published in the "Uncategorized" category.

   Is there an option to totally prevent that to a restricted user, and let him only show and publish to the categories he is allowd to?

   I'm not too familiar with Word's XML-RPC implementation. Have you tried a different program to see if it's doing the same thing?

   I haven't tried another program, Do you know which programs can be used for this?
   My clients use only MS-Word, so have no idea which apps more can be checked for this.

   I used MarsEdit (a Mac program) to try and replicate this but wasn't able to. I'm guessing it has something to do with MS Word's implementation of XML-RPC. Probably worth trying a different program for Windows, assuming that's what OS you are on.
