[resolved] Xbox Live Gamercard when using XHTML 1.1? (7 posts)

    I'm trying to include my Xbox Live Gamercard on my WordPress blog, but the code that Microsoft gives here is as follows:

    <iframe src="http://gamercard.xbox.com/insertgamertaghere.card" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" height="140" width="204"></iframe>

    The rest of my blog validates as XHTML 1.1, but iframes are dropped in anything above 1.0 so this prevents it from validating. How could I include the Gamercard on my site while keeping it in line with the XHTML 1.1 spec?

    Moved to Misc as the connection with WP is extremely tenuous.

    Sorry, I just put it in the forum which mentioned XHTML and CSS since that's the category I thought best fitted it. Nonetheless, I worked it out for myself:

    <object data="http://gamercard.xbox.com/NekoFever.card" width="204" height="141" type="text/html" />

    That works fine and validates as XHTML 1.1.

    A plug-in has been created to do just this.
    the theme you are using must support sidebar widgets.

    Originaly I placed the code from Microsoft in to my themes sidebar.php an all was good. But each time I changed themes, I would need to hack the sidebar.php. "yuck".

    Believe it or not - I was actually looking for a plugin like this recently. Thanks, erikcurtis. ;)
