On most of my pages I do not see the correct font and size in the editor (this is not a new problem, but I keep hoping it will get resolved, in vain!) although when I look at the page in a browser it is correct. Why is the WP editor so buggy?

This is not an issue with WordPress per se but rather your theme. Some themes do try to replicate the front end appearance in the back end editor but you still have to understand that there are limitations to even this functionality.

And you cannot upload images here. If necessary, upload the images elsewhere and post links to them here.

OK I have uploaded to Google docs
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-WqvtULGcrlQsjaHcOgcBMf0MHcQ8T9CpvjbckVRGwA/edit

Hope that is ok. I do not quite understand how the editor is afected by the theme.
The editor states that I am using Arial 14pt. What is displayed is something else, above all when there is a link or when I change the color.
It is most unsettling even though the end result is generally correct!
I was using MistyLook now TwentyTen as themes and the results are much the same.

If you are adding inline style to your pages, the editor will not be able to take this into account. As I said, here are limitations to the editor's WYSIWYG functionality.

Have you tried looking for an alternative editor plugin?
