I am looking for recommendations on a (preferably)free wysiwyg css and php editor so I can easily edit my files.
Wysiwyg is very important as I have no coding experience.

For example I want to edit my theme's navbar links (theme guru-manager) however even though I changed permissions on the files via ftp, the online edit function is still erroring out on me.
So I need a really easy editor to do this.
    Can anybody advise please?
I did a search and quite a few people recommend using Dreamweaver but it is way too expensive for me.

Even DW wouldn't help you. If you open WP files in it while in the wysiwyg mode - your screw up your blog.

No, I don't know of anything like what you are asking for.

Ok thankyou. Perhaps you could advise on my permissions problem then?

Theme - guru manager, it does have the ability to edit components however I am getting permissions errors, for example error writing to function.php when trying to change a link in the navbar.
I set both navbar.php and function.php to chmod 666 however I still get the errors. I just need an easy way to change these little aspects of the theme.

Just to give exact errors, this is what I am seeing

Warning: fopen(/home/rebe3091/public_html/wp-content/themes/guru-manager/data/navbar.txt): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/rebe3091/public_html/wp-content/themes/guru-manager/function.php on line 235

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/rebe3091/public_html/wp-content/themes/guru-manager/function.php on line 236

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/rebe3091/public_html/wp-content/themes/guru-manager/function.php on line 237

As I've already told you in another thread: I do NOT use the online editor because I find it a stupid way to deal with design.
Edit your files offline on your computer and upload them via FTP.

But as I explained before I have no experience with coding. I don't know which files I need to change. I don't know if chnaging one would require a change of another. And I certain have no idea how the code works.

It doesn't matter in that case. In the online editor you see the same code as offline...

If you cannot edit the code on your computer - you are not able to edit it online either.

The editor on this theme is just a point and click one. Click on change navbar and then insert the link I want and change the name for it. There is no coding ability required. It should make these things easy, however I am having that permissions error.

I know about the changing permissions. I have even set the whole wp-content folder as 777, but still get that error above. :-/

Don't worry about it I have chosen a less stressful theme.
    Thankyou for your help anyway.
