• Hi Guys,

I am new to wordpress editing, though have built decent webpages before in dreamweaver and taught myself to custom code myspaces. A friend tells me that the post editor in wordpress is WYSIWYG and is 100% accurate to the preview and end result.

Nothing I do in the editor ends up the same in the preview, and the saved result is different again. Fonts are different, images are moved and text alignment is completely different. The worst thing is that in the editor, the width constraints are different to the actual theme. I cant even start to build it when I know the theme body is narrower that the editor.

Any assistance would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Obviously your friend is wrong.

You could try a weblog client or look for a plugin to improve the current editor.

    Thanks Joseph.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Well, anyone that uses wordpress would have experienced it because how your post renders is dependent on the theme used (unless inline styling are been used). There’s nothing wrong with wordpress. Like I’ve siad, use a weblog client or a plugin if you consider the default editor to be unsatisfactory.

I’ve used Windows Live Writer before and it set the background as your site so it’s as if you’re typing on it.
