• Hello, I was very excited to read about the Wu Wei features, so I downloaded it started using it, only to see that the version I downloaded (from the WordPress Themes directory) is an old one that doesn’t support all the things the WordPress blog says.

    The version that is there is from last year and the WordPress blog announced this “new” theme last month.

    Can you, pretty please, make the new version available for wordpress.org users?
    I am in the middle of developing something really cool using Wu Wei and had to stop because of this.
    Thank you!

  • I’d suggest contact the theme author jeff_ngan over on his site http://equivocality.com/

    Will do, thanks! But I think, by the way they announced, that it was the WordPress team that made the new version, no?

    where did you read a WordPress team announcement about the wu-wei theme.

    the new theme bundled in with WordPress is the Twenty Ten one, you might be thinking of that.

    Themes that are hosted on wordpress.com are often heavily modified versions of themes that are available freely elsewhere. I’m not sure who carries out the modification work – maybe the theme author or possibly the people at Automattic – but there’s no “WordPress team” as such.

    I read it here: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/06/14/new-theme-wu-wei/

    The last paragraph of the post made me think that the same version is available for both .com and .org users.

    sadly then they haven’t updated the version hosted here – I’d suggest asking in the WordPress.com forums and seeing what they say there.

    I too, would like to see this down-loadable theme updated for us users who host our own WordPress blogs. Why do WordPress.org users get all the fun? 🙂

    for using pages as menu, add the following codes:

    style.css:
    ul#menu ul ul {display:none;}
    ul#menu ul li:hover > ul {display:block;}

    header.php: (inside ul id=”menu”)
    <?php wp_nav_menu(); ?>
