Wrong page started coming up for the home page (4 posts)

I added two pages to my WordPress site this morning, and one of them 'became' the front page somehow. The right page is set in Settings > Reading and when editing the homepage itself, it shows just the domain name as the permalink, as it should. It's not even possible to SEE the home page outside of opening it for edit and hitting 'Preview'. Doing anything else will forward to the incorrect page.

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Oh thanks. I tried the plugin thing but not the theme thing.

I killed the Redirection plugin and that solved the problem. Apparently it has a bug that at some point it grabs the most recently added page and redirects calls to the home page to the new page. It doesn't add anything to it's menu so the only way to stop the bug is to kill the plugin.
