[resolved] Wrong address of primary blog? (4 posts)

I just uninstalled an old version of a blog and installed WordPress according to instructions for multisite, choosing subdomains for extra blogs. I installed in a subdirectory, according to instructions for WP 3.5 & up, with the blog address in the root directory.

Under Sites, the blog shows up as sitting in the root of the domain.

However the permalinks show up as http://site.com/sample-post/

I thought they should be http://site-com/blog/sample-post/

I should mention that this is the second time I've tried this, having deleted the previous installation because I thought something must be wrong and a clean install would be easier than trying to figure out what was wrong. (So much for that thought!!)

Or have things changed re the permalink structure?

Seems I can't edit my post any more, but just wanted to say that I followed instructions here:
    I followed these instructions:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

  3. I installed in a subdirectory, according to instructions for WP 3.5 & up, with the blog address in the root directory.

This means you set up your site to be installed in domain.com/folder, but RUN out of domain.com, yes?

If so, and if you're using subDOMAINS as your subsites, then that's behaving exactly as it should :)

    Oh, great! Thanks, Mika!
I have another working multisite, with the blog installed in root, and it uses the /blog/ prefix for postnames.

Thanks much! I didn't see that documented anywhere.

Your support on this site is invaluable. :)
