   When I try to make a new post or manage a post after installing 2.6 the section where you enter the text for the post starts off in HTML mode. When I click visual the whole area disappears and I can't get it back unless I refresh the page. Not only that, but I also no longer have the custom bar above add media where you can select things such as text format and the continue reading insert options. What's going on here?

   I tried removing and reuploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders and still no fix...

   I'm having a similar problem ever since I upgraded. Mine starts off in visual, and goes straight through the Publish Status box. Switching back to HTML shrinks the box, "fixing" it, but still...

   ok 2.6.1 fixed this problem
