Write for another blog, how to show stream on mine

Putting together a site for an author. He has a writing column on a few wordpress sites that aren’t his.

What’s the best way to connect our blog with his ‘guest column’ blogs? I have a few ideas of things that have worked before, but I would really like to hear other ideas of the best way to do this to benefit both sites. Anything extra from better SEO tactics or plugins worth mentioning that could make this as pain-free as possible.

Any and all help is sincerely appreciated. I am fluent in PHP so advanced solutions are welcome!
