• Hi there,

I’m using WPTouch Pro 2.4.1 with WordPress 3.2.1

For each post, I’m having a thumbnail that I need to add. But sometimes, I won’t need to add a specific thumbnail.

So, what I would like to know, is: Is it possible to have a personalized default thumbnail which is not the basic icone? ==> When I don’t need a specific thumbnail, I would like that an image that I’ve chosen before appears.

    Thanks for your help

  • You can overwrite the default one by uploading your own and replacing it. However, each time you upgrade your custom one will be overwritten.

What is the location of the default thumbnail? Also, are there any plans of adding anything like ‘Default Thumbnail Plus’ which allows you to auto add a thumbnail depending on category, tag, or ngg tag? Useful if posting through the iOS WordPress App.

    Thanks

    Hi suggymoto,

The location of the default thumbnail is in /wp-content/plugins/wptouch/themes/core/core-images/thumbs/thumb-empty.jpg

If adding a thumbnail per category is functionality found in the iOS app, we can add it to the list of possible features in a future release for you.

    You’re welcome.

There is no way to add thumbnails directly in the WordPress App, however I was thinking if wpTouch Pro had the ability to auto generate a thumb dependent on the Category a post was published under; that would be pretty cool. At the moment it relies on a featured image being set either manually by the user in WordPress dashboard, or through a plugin like Auto Post Thumbnail. The latter is dependent on an image being present in the post, which of course isnt always the case. That is where auto generating a thumb based on category or tag would be useful.

    Just a thought.

Thanks for the info above. That will keep me going in the mean time 🙂

You’re welcome. And remember though we do our best to participate in the WordPress forums, WPtouch Pro customers can access timely, dedicated support though our BraveNewCode customer support forums at
