WPstart-How to change background color of menu? (8 posts)

    I am using the WPstart template but I can only control the color of the entire background and of the Header Text.
    The background of the menu, right under the header picture is simply white and I find it hard to see. Seeing that it's an important part of my site navigation, anyone have a quick fix to change the default color to something flashier?
    I know little about HTML and CSS. Was wondering if there's a quick way to jump into the code, change a value and be set?
    Thanks.

    I've correct your instances of 'smart' to 'start' & closed your duplicated thread.

    Hi there
    style.css
    line 521

    This is where navigation background is set:

    #nav ul.nav-menu, nav div > ul {
        background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #EEEEEE;
        display: inline-block;
        margin: 0 10px;
        position: relative;
        width: 940px;
    }

    Just change value #EEEEEE; for something else.

    It's recommended to create a child theme to make any changes. Check codex here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
