I have an annoying message at the top of my admin page saying...
WordPress 2.6.2 is available! Please update now.
I have tried updating, but I think the link is busted.
I have download the "Latest" version of WordPress about 15 times now. Each time it has been v2.6.1 :(
Both of these give me 2.6.1

http://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz
Am I being a total retard, or has anyone else had this problem?

...... I used the contact-us form to report it, but think they ignore the emails they get there.
Can anyone upload the latest version, please?
its showing 2.6.2 for me

it shows 2.6.2....
download it then check the readme file.
the downloaded file says 2.6.2, BUT it's actually 2.6.1 (I assume it's renamed on download)
I have updated about 5 or 6 times with the new "2.6.2" version and I still get the update message in the admin cp :(

Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!
thats perfectly normal. in an upgrade from 2.6.1 to 2.6.2 -- that just means that there arent any schema changes, like what would be the case in an upgrade from 2.3.x to 2.5, where the database changes were signifigant..
