I need an API key for my wordpress.ORG blog.

I already have an API key for a wordpress.COM blog but these two blogs are different blogs.

How do I get an API key for my wordpressORG blog?

You can either use the same API key as your wordpress.com blog, or sign up for a new wordpress.com account.

I think this is what you are after. Take a look at this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/api-keys/

-this part in particular: “If you have a blog hosted elsewhere using the WordPress.org software…“

That is helpful. So I open a new WordPress.COM account and use that API key?

I followed the last link’s instructions and apparently my WordPress.COM blog account doesn’t allow the option of emailing other users to view the blog stats page.

Is this unusual?

Thanks all.

Been working all day so I’m done.

I’ll change the topic to “resolved” tomorrow if I successfully follow through with James (MacManX)’s advice.
