There is a known issue of same slugs problems with WPML. Basically you cannot create a post/page/taxonomy with the same slug (which is quite annoying because some words are the same in different langs). For example, as far as I understand, you cannot do the following:
http://www.domain.com/blog
http://www.domain.com/es/blog
where blog is the slug. WP forces you to create unique slugs (in this case, I'm using blog-es which is not really nice). So I thought that it could be solved via htacces. For instance, one could replace all the "-es" with "", but I don't know if that is possible.
Has someone else tried this solution? Is it worth it? How does it affect in SEO or performance? Is there any other way to solve this?
