   I was wondering if there is an way to let visitors who are wp.com users "login" to comment on my self hosted WP.

   Kinda like facebook connect works.

   wordpress.com blog URLs function as OpenIDs, so you could try this plugin:

   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/rpx/
