    It would be awesome if WPBook could allow you to select what type of Facebook page to post to AND also include the ability to turn the auto-posting function on or off. As in, check the box to post to a Fan Page but then select the default for auto-posting to be false.

    To go even further, it would be INCREDIBLE if this functionality could be further extended to allow…

    • posting to multiple fan pages at once with the ability to specify auto-posting on a global level and then more specifically on an individual post level (i.e. this post goes to fan page A and C but not B)
    • support for custom post types (i.e. post type A can be published to fan page A and post type B can be published to fan page B)

    Anyway, these are just some ideas I had that stem from my own personal use of WP where I have multi-author blogs and/or sites who’s content is culled from a couple of different groups. I also think it would be great for some of my clients who want to be able to selectively publish content on multiple fan pages that represent different facets of their business.

    Thanks again for building this plugin. It’s great!

    Thanks mtomko – useful feedback.

    I think the first suggestion (set default for the on/off toggle) is a good one and not too challenging.

    The later ones get a bit more complex, and we’ve got to think through how that wold work.

    Multiple blogs, multiple authors, multiple post types, along with categories and tags – lots of different intersecting options for the admin.

    I know WPBook can handle these complex potential combinations better than it does (the “on/off” toggle on each post, ignoring custom post types) but it may be 2.5 or 3.0 before we really get them all nailed down!

    Probably start with categories or tags and allowing the toggle to have a default of “off” for certain categories or tags. At least that’s my current thought.

    Thanks John.

    I totally think that being able to have multiple personal and fan pages set up in WPBook with the option to A) post to them, B) toggle auto-posting on or off and C) allowing each Facebook page (user or fan) to only be published to if a post comes from a certain tag or category, would be awesome.

    And I think that (C) could probably be more easily accomplished by putting a “select which page you’d like to post to” meta box on the edit post window.

    Again, thanks for writing this plugin. It is fantastic.
