[resolved] wp_nav_menu lacks basic features (5 posts)

    Clients and users love the simplicity of the new nav system, but it lacks some basic features.

    1. Custom links have no option to open links in new window.
    2. Custom links used for internal links have no on or active state.

    These features are pretty much needed in order to use wp_nav_menu.

    Not sure about #2, but #1 is handled by menus--review Administration > Appearance > Menus

    Ah! They were turned off in the screen options by default.

    It lacked another feature in dealing with Private pages. I hope that the next release would allow Private pages to be added into the nav menu, and smart enough to know when to hide (for non-login users) and show (for login users).
