• Hi

I have installed WPTouch free version and notice the search function unable to make a search and even show ” No results found” for every search.

Just to make sure, is WP Touch compatibility with Relevanssi and is WP Touch already disable Relevanssi ?

    Thanks.

  • Relevanssi is not compatible with WPtouch at this time.

However, when I switch my site to mobile mode, I am unable to make any search and shows “No results found”.

When I switch it back to desktop mode, then it is OK.

    What is going wrong ?

I get the same ‘error’ with search. And with my Brightcove plugin. Works on desktop and in desktop mode on mobile, but not on the mobile view itself.

Is there any workout to add a different search plugin or use the wordpress default search only for WP-Touch?

WPtouch uses the native WordPress search functionality. If you’re not able to see that in your installation, there may be a Javascript conflict affecting performance.

To isolate which plugin(s) may be contributing to the trouble, deactivate all except WPtouch from within the WordPress Plugins area, clear your browser cache and local data then test.

If WPtouch functions well, you may then enable the rest of your plugins one at a time, repeating the process, until you can identify which is/are causing the problem.

You may choose to replace the conflicting plugin with another or upgrade to WPtouch Pro which has a feature that will allow you to disable the conflicting plugin within your mobile theme but leave your desktop theme intact.

I did for just confirm what I thought, Relevanssi causes the problem and since this is so fare one of the most search plugin used, I think you should include to deactivate this plugin within the mobile them by default in the free version as well. That would give new oxygen to everyone.

Another think that I think important is to let free user chose whether or not to show thumbnails with a multiple choice check boxes instead of a single pyramid choice, for example in my case, I’d need to show thumbnail in blog, search & archive but not in single and pages, and with the proposed choice this is not possible.

    Thanks for consideration!
