    Hi,

    I have followed all instructions here http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wp-table-reloaded-fixed-header-row but it doesn't seem to work.

    I have no idea why it's not working and need help please. I haven't published any page with the tables but I can do if you need to take a look. Please let me know if I should publish my draft page with the table.

    I really really need the fixed header extension to work but have been scratching my head over this and followed your instructions step by step but still no success.

    Thanks in advanced,
    Mo Raja

    Hi,

    thanks for your post.

    Yes, please publish that test draft page, so that I can take a look. Otherwise it will be impossible to find out what's wrong.

    Thanks
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

    Thanks for your response.

    I didn't clarify what's not working on previous message. The table is fine but it's the fixed header extension that doesn't seem to do anything. When I scroll down, the table header does not stick to the top of the page.

    I downloaded the extension from here http://tobias.baethge.com/download/plugins/additional/wp-table-reloaded-fixedheader.zip and installed it following your instructions here http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wp-table-reloaded-fixed-header-row.

    I've added the below CSS under Plugin Options

    .FixedHeader_Cloned table {
     margin: 0!important;
    }

    Also using the shortcde [table id=1 fixedheader=true /]
    (I did not rename my table ID and the short code seems to be working ok because the table is being displayed).

    I have published the test page here: http://www.smashing-deals.co.uk/mobile-phones/sim-only-deals/

    This is actually a WP multi-site install. I thought that might be an issue but I tried it on another WP site that is not a multi-site install and I had the same issue with fixed header not working.

    Any help would be awesome.

    Thanks
    Mo

    Hi,

    this is not working because you have selected the wrong sorting library on the "Plugin Options" screen. You need to choose "DataTables" there.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

    Thanks for taking a look. I think that was the defaul settings. I however changed it to "DataTables" but it's still not working. I also tried "DataTables", "DataTables+TableTools", "Tablesorter" and "Tablesorteer Extended" but it's still not working with any of those library selections.

    I left it on "DataTables" for now. Could you please take another look?

    Thanks very much,
    Mo

    Hi Mo,

    thanks for this. I just checked your page again in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, and the "Fixed Header" is working as expected. When I scroll down, the table header stays at the top nicely.

    Have you cleared your browser cache before testing?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hey Tobias.

    Thanks for your response. You're right. It is actually working. It doesn't work when I'm signed in due to the black WordPress bar at the top but works perfectly fine when I'm not signed in.

    Now where's that donate button? Do you accept donations? I feel obliged to make a small donation for your amazing contribution to the WP community.

    I also have one more final question but it's actually CSS related. Shall I start a new thread and mark this as 'resolved'? or post my question here?

    Thanks again,
    Mo

    Hi,

    ah, very cool! Yes, the admin bar likely interferes with the Fixed Header. Both are basically fighting for the top position, so that it doesn't work 100%.

    And thanks for wanting to donate, I really appreciate it! You can do so via PayPal at http://tobias.baethge.com/donate

    For that CSS question, it will indeed be better to start a new thread, as it is probably unrelated to the Fixed Header. That helps me to keep things cleaner.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
