I've just upgraded to 2.6 from 2.5, and WordPress Stats has a problem. It asked me to reenter the API key, and when I did it gave this error: "Error from last API Key attempt:
server error. requested method wpStats.check_key does not exist."
What now?
I just got the same error on a new blog I set up using a brand new WordPress.com account and API key:
server error. requested method wpStats.check_key does not exist

I just had this error. All I did what closed my FireFox 3 (which deletes all cookies/history/etc), re-opened my browser, logged back into my account and the plugin was fine.
I don't know what was the issue but that was the only thing that I did and it's working again.
My blog is Here

I've reverted to version 1.1.1 and it works.

I have the same error message and Akismet is working fine with the key. It must be a problem with the actual version. Deleting cookies etc. does not help.
Sorry folks! That was an issue in the WordPress.com servers. Version 1.3.1 is okay.
