According to the Codex this doesn't work with WP 2.0
However, since it was already in my plug ins folder,
I thought I'd give it a try and it seems to be working perfectly
for me. Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself if
you want to use it. If others find it works ok, leave feedback
here, so that the codex can be updated.

What I have found is that plugins that are already enabled before upgrading to 2.0 often work, when fresh installations of them do not. Please note that you are free to update the codex, thats what its there for.

Thanks, but I don't intend to update the codex based solely on
my experience, which is why I left the posting. If other people
leave postings to say it seems to be working fine, then it would
be appropriate for me or someone else to do so.
I have since deleted and reinstalled my plug ins and it still
seems to be working ok.
I uploaded the wp-shortstat plugin last night and in the directions it says that's all you have to do. I woke up this morning and it didn't record anything but my statcounter did.
