I am trying to set this up to export my blog posts from one site to another site. I want to display the posts in a widget I want to show different categories on different pages.
Whatever categories I list on the feed tab the widget only displays all categories..... Unless I change which categories are to be shown on the widget editor, in which case it shows no posts unless all categories are chosen.
The website I am trying to do this on is http://www.stasaphchiro.co.uk and the blog RSS comes from http://www.back-doctor.co.uk

hello
Because of the way widgets work on wordpress, the plugin is not able to show different categories on different pages. What I would do is not use the widget, but instead use the shortcode - which allows you to use catgories (via the shortcode parameters) on different pages.

Actually that info is not correct. If the feed category conicides with the widget category then a set of posts is shown, and they are the same posts whichever category is chosen and they do not all match the category.???
It is not quite doing what I want.. but it nearly is! I am sure I am getting something wrong somewhere

If were to use the widget, can I select what categories are shown on it, because, at the moment I don't seem to be able to do that. It is only showing up the most recent posts in all categroies, not the selected category
did you set up categories inside the plugin and then assign feeds to the different categories? If so, you should see those categories show up inside the widget admin and you can select which categories to show.

Yes I did that. I used the category names as per the categroies on the blog I want to copy (in the rss feeds section) and then I assigned them in widget admin, but what is coming up is posts with the wrong categories, basically a list of the most recent posts
ok...watch this movie...are you doing this as it shows in the movie (as you will see, I assign a feed to category, then choose that category in the widget and widget only shows the recent posts from that category)

Yes I have done that.
Set up 3 categories and 1 feed (from my blog on other website)
I assigned the feed to the category "arthritis"
Then I assigned the widget to the category "arthritis"
What shows in the sidebar/widget is the most recent 6 posts, some of which are in the category "arthritis" and some are not.
Whatever category I assign the widget shows the same 6 posts
Thanks for your time and attention!
Ok. Contact me at

and let me know the URL where the widget shows on you site.
And I'll see what the problem is
