WP-Piwik network mode automatically create statistics

    Hi braekling,

    Is it possible not to create Piwik statistics automatically in network mode? We have activated WP-Piwik plugin in network mode (WordPress multisite). Environment is a subdirectory with MU Domain Mapping.
    So, when we create a few blogs: my.example.net/blog1, my.example.net/blog2, etc… and some visitor (first one) come to that blogs, statistics are automatically created (each blog received his Site ID (Piwik)) and administrator of that blog can see it from WordPress dashboard.

    Our question is can you make it possible that only networkadmin can manage (create) WP-Piwik statistics for particular blog? Through Network Admin panel –> WP-Piwik –> Create Piwik site

    We do not want that to happen automatically for all blogs we have because not everyone want to have statistics for their blogs.

    We tried to set piwik user (his auth token) to be (super)admin or to have only view access but in either way statistics are automatically created for every blog we have (when first visitor come).

    We are using piwik 2.3.0 and wp-piwik 0.9.9.12 with enabled wp_footer() function.

    At the moment auto creation can not be disabled in network mode.

    Maybe you can use WP-Piwik as a site specific plugin? So each user can configure WP-Piwik on his own.

    Just add WP-Piwik to your /wp-content/plugins folder and enable the Plugins page for individual site administrators. Each user has to enable and configure WP-Piwik on his own if he wants to use the plugin.

    Thanks for your response. In our case that’s not an option. Hope that feature above mention will be available soon.

    The feature will be part of 1.0. A first release candidate is scheduled for the end of July.
