[resolved] WP-piwik 0.9.7 'crashes' site (5 posts)

    Hey there,

I've got WP-piwik running on a number of sites, all up-to-date on WP, but the sites where it works, run V0.9, not V0.9.7.

Just installed V0.9.7 on a fresh site, and I cannot activate it.
When I click on 'activate', there appears to be a request to the server, which then times out - after that I cannot even access the dashboard and the site appears to be down. (until I rename/delete the WP-piwik directory from cpanel).

here's a short video of what's going on:

any ideas what might be going on?
    oh, it's a single site, not a multi-WP

    Cheers

    Veit

Did you also upgrade Piwik itself? Are you using the correct Piwik URL?

Please have a look at following threads:

    Hey there,

the 2nd link you sent almost fixed it - in the end I had to delete the 2 entries in the options-table AND remove the entire piwik database from the server.

now it works fine - thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

    Cheers

I'm currently working on request time outs, a "full reset" and a uninstall "routine" to make it easy to fix this problem and to avoid its occurrence in future.

    cool!

btw, when I contacted hostgator customer support about it,
at some point I thought "mhmm, maybe there's an existing
database that's causing a problem" - I asked them about it,
and their response was that there was no such database.

"piwik" as the database name I guess should've been a clue;-)

    Cheers
