I am trying to upload number of photos. I resized all of them to 600x… pixels. Created a number of Photo Albums. I could sometimes upload a number of photos at once, then stalled. Someone advise me and upgrade for me the memory. I could then upload some single photos. After two successful uploads, the message that shows up only on the Tab says: Page Not Found. It is so frustrating… I don’t want to give up on this plug-in because it gives me exactly what I have been looking for. What am I doing wrong???

Maybe you get server timeouts, the upload must be completed within 60 seconds on most servers.

Try uploading by ftp to your wppa-depot and import them using the Start Ajax button.

See the Photo Albums -> Import photos admin screen for the location where you should ftp your photos to.

This cannot be the case. I successfully uploaded even 18 photos (all photo the same size)to one photo album. At other times, I uploaded one, then another one to a different album and then since I tried the third, I started getting the same message on the tab : Page Not Found

What page is not found? This looks like a server problem or a misconfig of wp, not directly a wppa+ problem.

    Did you try importing?

It doesn’t tell me what Page is not found. All that is set on the tap is: Page Not Found. Eva Heller’s Art.

I am trying to upload photos to Photo Albums that I have created. They correspond to Pages that I set up but first the photos must land in the Photo Albums and that is where the problem is. Initially, there was no problem to upload, then I got this message:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@evaheller.friendsoffood.ca and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Then, the consultant who was helping me did some changes. This is what she did: I turned on your permalink setting so an .htaccess shows and I renamed it. I also uploaded the php.ini file they talked about inside your wp admin folder.

It worked for some single photos and after that I started getting Page Not Found tab message.

Should I try to start all from scratch? Truly at loss and this seems to be so good program, exactly what I need.

You can re-install wp from the update screen, you can also de-install wppa ( de-activate and delete ) and re-install from the plugins page.
This will NOT damage your albums or photos, so it is worth trying.

I think I find a way to resolve this problem but I am far away from any understanding why it happened. It looks that some photo jpg files were “blacklisted” by the program. If even one such file was bundled with others for multiply file uploading, the whole bundle was rejected giving this seemingly unrelated message on the tab: Page Not Found. After a lot of trial and error I found out that it was enough to just change the name of the file and it went through. Truly strange as it doesn’t make any sense to me.

Filenames should have no funny ( special like accenetd, comma’s etc ) characters, but it depends from the pc and server platform what is allowed or not. Failing to comply may give unpredictable results that are beyond the scope of wp or wppa.

Thank you. It was so simple and yet created so much commotion and confusion. When I looked back, the file names which caused problems had apostrophe in them. Since I never had problems with these names before in other problems, I didn’t think for a moment it could be the problem. I am glad that I didn’t give up on the Plug-In because it really is what I want. Thank you.
