WP Page Widgets plugin not working

Hello

I’ve seen a few posts on this but can’t find a resolution. I installed the latest version (through the dashboard) today, activated the plugin, set settings to have primary widget area customisable and have checked “Available for post type” post and page. When I go to a page and add widgets to the sidebar (having selected “customize”), then click on “Publish” or “Update” the widgets don’t appear and the changes aren’t saved.

WordPress 3.2.1 (English) if that helps. Tried several themes, including twenty ten and twenty eleven.

If I could get this plugin working it would be so helpful!!
