Hi all - I have had a good scan around the forums but I think I MAY have asked this question a year or so ago but now can't remember what the outcome was!
I have a situation where I want to put a WP installation on my bog standard webhost. That is cool. But if anyone wants to access it publicly then before they can read the articles they have to log in.
Some of the articles are going to be for internal company use only and I don't want the general public to stumble across WP and read them.
I think I can use "phpaccess" or whatever it is called (whereby you have an access file with user names and passwords) - so when the user goes to the WP site it pops up to get the user has to enter a user/pass. The only issue with that is that it is not that simple from an admin POV and I have to muck around editing the access file each time a user changes.
Unless there is a web based admin or GUI tool for that phpaccess - mmm - that would be a solution...
Any help or pointers to websites/forum posts where this is further discussed would be appreciated.
:)
