wp-login.php cannot be accessed (6 posts)

I just installed the latest WP 2.7 available from the wordpress site. When trying to access the login page wp-login.php, firefox prompts for the file to be Open with (choose application) or Saved as, instead of opening the page.

If I choose open with Firefox, it starts downloading and opening multiple windows. even if I close the browser, it reopens another and keeps opening new tabs.

When using IE, it just shows Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage.

The strange thing is, it happened for a few times before it went away, and I was able to login and post some test posts, but now it is starting to do that again.

    Any ideas?

sounds like your host is dropping the php connection occasionally
ask - maybe they are doing server upgrades or some such

In that case all php files should be affected? But they are not, the index.php shows up fine, and I'm running a few other applications using php scripts as well, and they are ok. Only wp-login.php can't be accessed.

I tried to upload the files again, but it's still happening. :(

I tried a fresh install with an empty db, but this is still happening. I can access the blog contents but when I click on the link to login (wp-login.php) the same thing happens

I tried viewing from another computer and still can't view it. on IE and safari it just brings me to a page that says there is a connection problem.

    here's a screenshot
