wp login trying to use http// with the ":" missing

    Long story short.. I have been battling the WSOD for quite some time.. issue has been the client site was hosted with her son-in-law who was not very helpful

    In the process of moving her to a new host and have set up a fresh install. Rather than change the DNS from the old host and then finish the site i am using the host IP address/wpinstall. The login page is trying to load http//ipaddress/wpinstall with the “:” missing.

    Hoping that someone has some ideas on how to fix this/

    Please before doing anything with wordpess refer to documentation, specially when you don’t have any experience with wordpress.

    Hi,

    I had added a couple of lines to my config.php file that defined WP_SITEURL and WP_SITEHOME. once i removed the http:// from the WP_SITEHOME line the issue went away.
