  • i have been getting this error for a long time and recently switched hosts thinking that some of these problems were due to poor hosting.

does anyone know what to do about something like this? it is showing the wp login screen after i hit the image upload button in the wp admin section. i am also getting a previously logged in wp editing page to crash out and require me to login /during/ an update (which means i lose my edits). any ideas?

  • That’s very strange. I have never seen this or don’t know why this would happen.
I would first try and deactivate all plugins and see if one of them is the culprit.
I also see that you are running an old version of WP and have many updates needed. I would take care of these and see if the issue goes away.

    hi christine.

    thank you so much.

i have tried to unload all plugins that are not critical.

can i please ask you if you or anyone are aware of problems wih being “multiply” logged in to WP? what i mean is that i tend to have a number of windows open while i am editing my blog and i also tend to be logged in to multiple pages where i can edit a page in WP. this means that i will have a number of tabs open with the wp login page and then i will enter my login information and i will go back and forth between the pages as i proof and edit my site.

    thanks!

i also tend to be logged in to multiple pages where i can edit a page in WP.

You should only need to be logged in once. Once logged in, you should be able to edit as many pages as you want.

I usually have 2 tabs open, one for my editor and one for my site. If I want to see the site as a non-logged in user, I use a different browser.

I’ve never seen the error that you’ve posted.

I think that you should deactivate ALL of your plugins and then reactivate them one by one. If the error is due to a plugin, that’s the only way to figure out which one.
