WP LaTeX png placement

    I just installed WordPress the other day, and added the LaTeX plugin. It works well, but no matter what theme I use, it seems the png it generates is lifted above the baseline of the rest of the text, so it looks bumpy. This does not happen with the WordPress.com site, the same code looks great there.

    what am I missing? I searched the forums and can’t find anything useful, nor when googling.
