You have to create a gallery in the page, select the pictures you want to upload, and then choose just 1 column to display them.
After that, while viewing your page you go to customize and pick the option “a static page” and in the front page you select the page you just created.
That’s it, it should all work ^^ Good luck!

UPDATE Feb 2nd, 2014: The Jurist theme is temporarily unavailable. It will be back in a few days.
It would be nice to have a gallery size setting in the theme settings area. Love the slider. I would just like to have it smaller without adjusting the css.

there are several alternate homepage templates included with this theme – how do i set the one with the gallery slider as the active template?
Actually, I just found an answer elsewhere – on the individual page you want to set the alternate on, and on the sidebar go to page attributes, then the dropdon menu for templates should list all the alternates available.
I have set the homepage template as Alt_Homepage, w/Gallery. But may I know where can I insert the slider image?
Hi everyone, today i’ve received the notification for the new update template WP Jurist, after upgrade and i’ve problem for postname, when i go to “people” and see only three lawyers, i’ve 32 lawyers. and i’ve tried to go Permalink, before i’ve checked on “postname”, and i click to postname, and go on website, is not found with error. how i must fix this? it’s urgent before the customer see this. Thanks
I followed the instructions above, created a gallary (and set the pictures to one column), set the gallary page as my static page, but no slider.
How do I invoke the slider? I don’t see any slider settings or option. Is the slider a plugin?

Never mind; I did get it to work.
To include slider just add image to the feature image in the posts. It will automatically shown in slider.
