WP installed on HostGator doesn't work (8 posts)

I've installed WP on "www.Easy-Plan-B.com/WordPress" but when I login I see a directory listing, not the dashboard and when I 'view the site' I get a blank screen. I've edited the default start-post but the original start post keeps showing up when I click the 'index.php' in 'wp-admin'

I've started over and installed WP in the root-directory to no avail so deleted it again and reinstalled in 'WordPress'

Saw something in 'help' that suggested going to cPanel 'Web Preferences' and adding 'index.php' but can't find 'Web Prefs' in cPanel

What do I do next, coach?

    check this:

    http://www.easy-plan-b.com/WordPress/wp-admin/install.php

    Already Installed

You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

    I said I have installed - deleted - installed - deleted - installed!

How do I "clear" database files if that doesn't do it?

you must log in to phpmyadmin
put a check by all tables
"Drop" from drop down box at bottom

a work around is to change the $table_prefix in wp-config.php to something other than wp_

I've removed WP since no one seems to know how to make it fly!

that's pretty funny with over 3 million wordpress blogs and hostgator has cpanel - so an easy install

they even have a one-click script to install wordpress
    you are just plain lazy
