In my code I am writing:

You also can order it directly from Amazon.

    a title="Buy Global Sense from Amazon" href="http;//www.amazon.com/GLOBAL-SENSE-spiritual-handbook-ourselves/dp/0972890580/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325278560">Amazon

However, when I update my page, WP is inserting my site domain before the hyperlink:

    http://globalsense.com/http://www.amazon.com/GLOBAL-SENSE-spiritual-handbook-ourselves/dp/0972890580/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325278560

    or even stranger:

    http://globalsense.com/2011/global-sense-now-published/http://www.amazon.com/GLOBAL-SENSE-spiritual-handbook-ourselves/dp/0972890580/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325278560

I have cleared my cache and checked this in several browsers. The error occurs on all browsers. Also, I upgraded to the latest WP 3.3.1, and the error continued.

Here is the page at issue: http://www.globalsense.com (first post) or post page itself: http://globalsense.com/2011/global-sense-now-published/

As you might guess this is an urgent issue for me. Please share your wisdom, folks?

How do I stop WP from treating an external link like an internal link?

In the question above, in fact, when I type the code:
"You also can order it directly from Amazon."

    The link somehow became:

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/http://www.amazon.com/GLOBAL-SENSE-spiritual-handbook-ourselves/dp/0972890580/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325278560

Why is this this happening, and how do I fix it?

    Found the error:

    Had "http;" (semicolon)
    should ahve been
    http: (colon)

sigh. Amazing what one keystroke can do!
