Had this problem after updating to 3.0. Got back to 2.9x and it's working fine.

Tested a new install of 3.0 and imported info from other site. worked fine until I changed the theme.

Tried again on a test site and it updated successfully, so it said, but errors when reloading the page and then the wp-admin errors the same.

Now I get this same error again:

Fatal error: Call to a member function add_rewrite_tag() on a non-object in /home/upsta11/public_html/test/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 289

How do I get rid of this taxonomy error?

Ah, yes.... the plugin wp ecommerce by instinct was a problem. I upgraded to the latest version of it and seems.... SEEMS to be ok now. Will try on my main site tonight.

Not sure this is resolved yet though.

I'd like to roll-back to 2.92x like gnfoster but this error is preventing me from getting back into the admin pages.

No, I did not back up my files or DB before performing the upgrade. Stupid in hindsight. I'd appreciate suggestions on where to go from here.

    Thanks in advance.

Same problem here when upgrading from 2.9 branch.

I could recognize that the problem here was with the "Podcasting Plugin by TSG", version 2.3.9.1. Just moved the folder and WordPress automatically deactivated the plugin.

In version 2.3.10 this problem was solved.

Reset your plugins and upgrade the Podcasting Plugin by TSG to 2.3.10 before reactivating.
