   My site at http://scarypersonals.com seems to load awful slow. Anyone care to help me find what is causing the delays, like any unclosed tags etc.?

   hmm, it loads fairly quickly for me but ...

   you do have a fair amount of validation errors, but thats not really going to slow anything down, btw.

   I'm more inclined to think if youre seeing slow loading times that its due to the external stuff being loaded, not your actual site, as there does seem to be a lot of that going on.

   and it seems to agree that with you.

   Those numbers seem pretty high for me ^^

   Comparing that to what I see on my own site (nothing else to go on):

   Global Statistics
   Total HTTP Requests: 17
   Total Size: 125409 bytes

   with the bulk of the time being spent loading images. You might want to go plug that url in and take a look at the results, ask away if youre confused about what it says.

   Thanks. I am a little at a loss about how I can compress the HTML, which is one of the big warnings I am getting. I have zero clue about doing this.

   It does advise changing image formats to .png which I will try, but the images, while there are several, do seem to load quickly. It does seem to be the other things loading slowly. Now if I just knew which ones.

   Well, so far I have the T1 time down to 6.28 seconds. Still have no idea how to do the HTML compression in WordPress. I'll have to redo the non-post graphics to reduce that time. Not sure which scripts I can eliminate. Took out a couple so far.

   Make that 4.82 seconds. But still would appreciate compression guidance. The program says I can cut about 75% from the html but I tried a compression plug-in to no avail.

   Your page loads quickly for me. It seems normal. Seems like you've fixed it.

   I did get it down to 4 seconds according to that site used above, which is good. Unfortunately there are certain scripts the compression add-on isn't handling.
