   I have hacked together a working version of mpt's Welcome screen proposal located here:

   It is pretty easy to implement, but it does require my wp-stats plugin to power the site stats.

   Is this only for the admin section or can it also be on the front page?

   Well I set it up to be for the admin section, but with some modifications you could make it live out in your main directory.

   I like the post dated entry section. Thats something WordPress sure is missing.
   Someone said they had over 75 drafts they were bringing in from MT (they were having problems). I imagine this will be excellent for those people who work on many drafts at once.
   Giving drafts and post dated entries is a great idea!

   unoamigo: As of WP 1.2 you can have post dated entries, all you need to do is edit the timestamp to be a date in the future when you are writing the entry.
   Not sure if you were saying you didn't know it had that capability, or you just liked seeing them singled out like that.

   Heh. Post dating has been a feature since it was b2.
   Being able to see and edit posts you publish into the future, now thats a handy feature.

   3. Put the image files where ever you store images and edit wp-stat-body.php to point to that location.
   Where??

   Twice I've tried to get this 'plugin' working, and twice it's b0rked out.

    Same goes for me.
    My test-site just decided to take off on its own and leave me in the doldrums. =)
    It would certainly be smashing if this works.
