• I have always used DreamWeaver to build my websites, but am trying to learn to work with WordPress.

I created a website using WP and it looks OK.. but the linking is all messed up.

From the first page the links are OK.. site.com/pageone goes to page one.

However.. once on page one.. the links are: site.com/pageone/nextpage

How do I get it to link properly to the other pages without adding /pageone/ between the name of the site and the name of the page?

  • Just a guess, but it may be that your other pages are set with a ‘Parent’ of pageone. Try editing a page and setting ‘Parent’ to ‘No parent’.

Thank you for the suggestion.. but I don’t even see anywhere that it says Parent or no Parent. Where do you set that?

In the Page Attributes tab on Edit Page.

OK.. I don’t seem to have a page attributes tab.. but I went to the quick edit and it does say “no parent”.

I am using a php include for the right side navigation. Is there another way I should be doing this?

Go to Screen Options on Edit Page and ensure that the Page Attributes field is ticked.

Yes .. Page Attributes, Custom Fields, Discussion and Comments are ticked.

Don’t quite understnd how I am supposed to link to other pages at the site .. very frustrating!
