WP file corrupted issue? (4 posts)

    Yesterday I try to relocate the url from test (tibet-walk.com/test) to live (tibet-walk.com). When I test it, the browser display 404 Not Found error message.

    After I did some research on the forum, they said it's because the url i set it didn't link to the correct path where my wordpress has installed. So I went to myphpadmin and change the siteurl n home back to tibet-walk.com/test.

    Unluckily, no luck. It still the same when i type in tibet-walk.com/test, the url redirect to tibet-walk.com/testimonial. Do you think it's the file corrupted in the system or something?? Because I never type tibet-walk.com/testimonial before.

    cheers

  2. There's no file named test. Did you edit the .htaccess to remove test from the base?

    Sorry, when you type tibet-walk.com and it's work because I have installed a new wordpress in this directory and copy n paste all the contents from test to tibet-walk.com.

  4. copy n paste all the contents from test to tibet-walk.com.

    Right. When you did that, did you copy the file named .htaccess and, if so, did you EDIT that file to remove the call to test?

    Your old one, when you were IN test, probably looked like this:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /test/
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    # END WordPress

    See the line RewriteBase /test/? Change it to RewriteBase /
