WP experience creating a CMS, Directory for Mysore

    Hi Friends,

    I have started a new website, this is my first experience with WP & am shocked to see this small script which is actually for blogging can be a great CMS, I bought a design & have implemented it on my portal which is a directory, history, information, maps, listings etc., of Mysore a royal city in India, which will also be a calender for the city’s all happening & to happen events.

    Suggest me what all I should do more to make this look & feel more elegant so if once the people visit this they should remember this always as an example.

    That’s too vague.

    Can you instead start by stating your goals for the home page so we have criteria to judge your website on?

    BTW your website is the same as the theme its derived from, so what’s there to review?

    hi Abhishek,
    Congrats on your first wordpress blog, looks good.

    Here’s a few quick suggestion.

    1) Get a logo for your site. It says – Directory – on the top where a logo or a header should have been. Put something brandable there.

    2) Just wondering, if you are covering mysore, they why have you put a world map on the top. You need a map of mysore in there.

    3) There is still plenty to work on your blog. At the top of your blog page, you have the default text. Put something related in there.

    4) Get a seo plugin – then change the post pages title to have only the post title.

    5) Be active on the social media, add some social voting buttons on your posts.

    overall, you have a good blog, keep it updated,

    Nice theme you have used here. This gives me ideas for making a directory listing website for my city.
