    this is the error:
    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at http:theenchantmentway.com. This could mean your host's database server is down.

    * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?

I moved the site i developed on my local, and then i moved the site to the host server. i followed the move to new server instructions, but could not access my blog. i had this working on my local server. i can't even login into myphpadmin, where did i go wrong, is there something els i need to edit?

phpMyadmin has nothing to do with the blog's login.
Even if you cannot access your blog, you should be able to login to the database!

So, the obvious question is the 3rd one: is the database server running?

yes i gave the host a call he said it's fine. the other thing is that there was a WPblog there using the same url. when i thought about it was to late because i had already deleted it.

If the DB server is running, then you put wrong data for the rest in the wp-config file:
    username
    password
    hostname
