   I would like to include the wp emoticons in my blog but I can't find a way to show the keyboard codes ie. the colon and closed bracket for this :).

   I've tried cutting and pasting the codes from wp documentation but the codes don't transfer.

   I could add a link to that page but it would look scruffy.

   Try just using a colon and a closed bracket.

   You can also use a plugin to add in clickable smilies: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/smilies
