• Every time I add a new product, it thinks about it… then times out and gives me an Internal Server Error. But when I go back to the product list, my product or the change I made to an existing product is there… looking fine.

It’s really just more annoying than anything.

  • Hi, I am also seeing exactly the same bug.
I recently moved my site to a new host, Hosting24, moving away from whatever host the original website design company used, and also setup SSL certificate for the checkout.
Somewhere around that time this problem started happening.
    Everything else works fine.

It worries me that I may have done something to start this happening.

    WordPress version 3.3.1
    e-Commerce plugin version 3.8.7.2

Not updated either of those for some time and am resisting updating until I have documented some source code changes I made.

I am sure, therefore, the server error was not introduced by updates.

I had this problem suddenly occuring simultaneously for all WordPress sites running on one of my servers. It was quite perplexing given that I was running different versions of WordPress and WP e-Commerce, and some had been running for years without a hitch.

The solution, thanks to Joshuaiz is the ping services in the Writing section of the WordPress settings. When you create a new product, it sends that info to the feeds each time. The time out (Internal Server Error) occurs when WordPress does not get all the pingbacks. In my case, http://www.lasermemory.com/lsrpc/ was no longe working. Removing this one from my ping services fixed the problem.
