I’m developing a gallery site with WP and have been testing the various shopping cart plugins. I’m leaning towards WP e-Commerce, but I haven’t been able to set up the navigation the way I would like.

I use Flexi Pages Widget for navigating the gallery pages, which expands a hierarchal menu as you navigate and highlights the the page being displayed. I’ve been trying to get Flexi Pages and e-Commerce to work together in the same way, but as e-Commerce creates it’s own proprietary database entries for products and categories, and doesn’t actually create “WP” type pages or post entries, I haven’t bee able to figure out how to integrate the two. I had hoped it might be quite a simple hack, but my knowledge of php and WordPress are too limited at present.

Does anyone know of a solution, or know these two plugins well enough to be able to help or guide me?

    May thanks for your time.

    Brett

I now think this is best achieved by modifying e-Commerce’s show_cats_brands() function.

How can I best identify from within that function whether an individual product page or a product category page is being displayed, and which? I need to identify which category or which item is called or displayed, so the menu category can be expanded appropriately, and the correct menu category or item can be highlighted.

Don’t sweat it. Got it solved.
