I"m curious as why WP allows plugins to leave their mess in the database long after the plugin is deactivated, you'd be shocked at how much muk is in that database the plugins leave behind, has anyone found a way to clean up this ?

nope, but i'm here now looking for a solution. :)
me too. my export is broken, and I suspect the cruft from old plugs might have something to do with it...
Hey... me too!
I am looking for a way to get rid of unused entries within the tables. With every WP upgrade and plugin installation, the entries are getting numerous... if anyone knows a way, please share.
Me too!
I've only started up the package and looking at the phpMyAdmin database, it's a complete mess!
I'm looking for maintenance utilities.
