• For months now the automated emailing of the back up has not been working on one of my sites, and now it stopped working on 4 more. I can get a manual backup and email it, but I don’t even trust it to be complete and thorough, since some of my past backups have been over 1000 kilobytes and now they are 300. Can anybody recommend an alternative for a trustworthy regular backup?

  • If your host provides cPanel I would check the database(s) via the “MySQL Databases”. In there you can select the database and click “Check DB”. This will then report if there are any issues with the integrity of the database.
