As much as I like the WP-Cumulus as a fantastic plugin I'm disappointed that it does not support the full UTF-8 character set that is required to display characters in my language. Is there any way to enable this?

Because of a limitation in the way Flash 9 handles text this is not an option right now. I have a tutorial about how to add characters for your language (http://www.roytanck.com/2008/08/04/how-to-add-more-characters-to-wp-cumulus/), but for languages like Chinese this will add too much weight to the movie for it to be used online.

We're working to get unicode working in the next release. This will bump the required Flash version to 10, and will probably be optional. I'm running a test on my blog right now, and we hope to be able to release a new version withing the next month or so.

If you looking only for some special characters you can follow RayTanks solution.

BUT in step 4 instead of adding another set just add special caracters you want in field "Include these characters:". For example: šŠčČžŽ. Read more here (in Slovenian language)

    That's it.
