   I have installed WP-Cron 1.2 according to the instructions in the wp-cron-readme.txt file.

   It says only to upload wp-cron.php file to the plugins folder.
   Now where are the other files going?
   the same wp-content/plugins/ folder?

   The other files are:
   wp-cron-dashboard.php
   wp-cron-future-pings.php
   wp-cron-gravcache.php
   wp-cron-mail.php
   wp-cron-moderation.php
   wp-cron-reminder.php

   any idea?

   All the files are WordPress plugins. They all belong in /wp-content/plugins/. Without WP-Cron, they won't do anything.
