• Situation:

• Installation of WordPress 2.7+
• Corporate firewall requires Username and Password for access to the Interent (due to content filtering requirements)
• Dashboard (Autoupdate and other features) does not retrieve data.

My installation of wordpress is sat on a network that requires user login and password to access the internet (Active Directory authentication) with the likes of Firefox requesting username and password at the beginning of a session.

As a result, when I login to the installation to check for updates to plugins, the dashboard details and so on, the system does not give me any updates as it cannot access the internet without the required authentication.

Is there any patches, options or other way I can get the installation to perform the updates automagically.

Cheers

Ady

• I have the same issue. I was wondering if there will be a way to use the auto-update feature if I go and download the file myself and put it on the server. It would save me the time of moving the files around by hand and I would be more inclined to upgrade more frequently. I am sure the auto-update script puts the downloaded .zip file in a specific location and continues from there, I just have not taken the time to try and figure it out. I have ftp setup correctly on the host it just gives the error:

Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.7.1.zip
Download failed.: couldn’t connect to host
Installation Failed

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
